Immigration

Immigration is a term given to the movement of people between different countries. While the movement of people from country to country has existed throughout history at a range of levels, modern immigration normally involves a long-term, legal and permanent residence.

An immigrant is an individual who has citizenship in one country, but who seeks to have permanent residence in another. The immigrant must obtain a visa or other documentation that certifies that they are eligible to immigrate to the specified country.

Immigration control is the process by which a countries government will determine who is eligible to live in their country. Depending on the individual’s country of origin and current location, it may be necessary to get an entry clearance form when immigration  is desired.
